We will keep The Promise

At SCRA, we are committed to Keeping The Promise.

The first phase of our work, was our Keeping the Promise Route Plan. The Route Plan contained the high level activity planned for 2021-2024 to take us towards Keeping The Promise through two interlinked strands of work – improvement and reform.

We have recently concluded the Route Plan and a closure report that describes the progress made in the last three years was published in June 2025.  We also produced a version of the closure report for children and young people.

The improvement work is now part of a new integrated programmes approach within SCRA. This aims to ensure that the enablers of digital development and efficient processes deliver capacity to be directed at improvement so that we can take on challenges, remove and reduce barriers and move forward towards Keeping the Promise.

SCRA is also actively involved in reform through our work with partners in key organisations and with children and families to redesign the structures, processes and legislation of the Children’s Hearings System.

SCRA was a member of the Hearings System Working Group and the collaborative redesign project. We are continuing the work towards redesign in partnership as a member of the Children’s Hearings Redesign Board and Planning Group.

We looking forward to continuing to work with our partners and children and young people to strengthen the Children’s Hearings System.
