Annual Report 2025/26 published
We have published our Annual Report for 2025/26 today, highlighting a year of progress, partnership and innovation across the Children’s Hearings System.
The report covers the period from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026 and provides an overview of SCRA’s performance, achievements and priorities for the future.
Over the past year, we continued to focus on ensuring children and young people remain at the heart of everything we do.
Key achievements in the past 12 months included: the launch of the Learning Hub, the introduction of Communi-crate to support participation in Hearings, the opening of the transformed Glasgow Hearings Centre, and continued progress in areas including corporate parenting, inclusion, trauma-informed practice and sustainability.
The report also highlights SCRA’s work with partners across Scotland to improve outcomes for children, young people and families, while preparing for significant legislative changes that will impact the Children’s Hearings System in the years ahead.
The report showcases examples of innovation and improvement throughout the organisation, including support for Hearings-experienced children and young people, investment in staff development, new digital services, research projects and improvements to Hearing environments across Scotland.
Board Chair Cathie Cowan said the year had been “busy and productive” and thanked staff, partners and Board Members for their contribution to improving experiences and outcomes for children and young people.
Looking ahead, Principal Reporter and Chief Executive Neil Hunter highlighted SCRA’s readiness for future legislative change and our continued commitment to children’s rights, participation and partnership working.
