Marking British Sign Language progress
SCRA was delighted to celebrate progress towards achieving Scotland’s National British Sign Language Plan 2023-2029.
We joined members of the deaf community and representatives from a host of public bodies at an event in Glasgow on Tuesday 3 February.
Organised by the British Deaf Association Scotland and supported by the Scottish Government and Inspiring Scotland, the event was an opportunity to hear some examples of good practice and share ideas. It was also a chance to develop new relationships and strengthen existing partnerships.
We had the opportunity to showcase some of our work with the British Deaf Association Scotland. We have been working with them on a suite of BSL videos for our website, including a walk through of a Children’s Hearings Centre and a BSL video dictionary.
You can view all our BSL videos on our website.
Maryanne McIntyre, SCRA’s Press and Communications Manager said: “We are committed to improving all our information materials and making them as accessible as possible.
“We have developed a strong relationship with the British Deaf Association Scotland and we look forward to working with them on new BSL materials in the near future. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions for making our information more accessible to all, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.”
