To mark International Week of Deaf People we have produced a video update on our British Sign Language (BSL) Action Plan. The update is available below in BSL format, along with sub titles and audio.

Our plan was originally launched in March of this year and since then we have made good progress in relation to some of our actions.

On our website we have developed a bespoke page for BSL and have added a BSL ‘tab’ to the top right of every page on our website so it is clearly visible. On the BSL page of the website we have included links to our plan, as well as an information video about SCRA which has been translated into BSL.

We intend to develop further BSL videos and would welcome any feedback about this.

Collette Gallagher who leads SCRA’s Disability Group, said: “We continue to work hard to raise awareness about disability including ‘hidden’ disability, empower our staff to tackle stigma and discrimination where this occurs and to enable staff to best support disabled children and families who use our service.”
