Support Assistant (Reception), Tayside & Fife

Based in Dundee
With locality-wide responsibilities
35 hours per week
£17,546 – £18,033

The Children’s Hearings System provides the operational setting in which SCRA and our partner agencies work. The aim is to provide a safety net for vulnerable children and deliver tailored solutions which meet the needs of the individuals involved, while helping to build stronger families and safer communities.

Support Assistant (Reception) is a key member of our Reception Support Services Team. There are two key elements to the role. You will, from time to time, be the first point of contact for all visitors to our office and will provide a warm reception for children, their families and all other persons attending hearings, as well as liaising with a variety of our partners including social workers, police and teachers. You will also provide regular general clerical support to the Locality including processing of paperwork and electronic mail/documents, photocopying and filing and administration of mailboxes.

The skills you will require in this post are the sensitivity to deal with people from all backgrounds warmly and effectively, and sound administrative and digital skills.

Whilst the role is based in Dundee with locality-wide responsibilities, you may be required from time to time to travel to our hearing centres in Arbroath and Perth, or occasionally Glenrothes. Due to the nature of this post and the requirement to travel to outreach hearing centres, applicants should have a driving licence and access to a car; or willingness to commit to timeously obtain a driving licence and access to a car; or access to suitable alternative transport to enable travel to outreach hearing centres when required.
