Working at the heart of our unique care and justice system for children, you will undertake with care and creativity the responsibility for an assigned caseload. Assessing referrals, supporting the hearings process, preparing and conducting relevant proceedings in court as well as working closely with partner agencies, you will provide an excellent service that ensures the care and supervision needs of vulnerable children are met.
Qualified to degree level or equivalent in social work, law or another relevant discipline, you will bring at least two years’ experience in a similar environment. You will also be IT literate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates will be expected to use digital technology to deliver virtual hearings using our secure virtual platform (training will be provided), as well as utilising digital technology within SCRA’s Hearings suites.
You will be required to undertake and successfully complete a mandatory accredited training programme which will lead to the award of the recognised Professional Development Award for Children’s Reporter Practice.

These posts are subject to PVG clearance by Disclosure Scotland. It is normal practice to appoint at the minimum point of the salary scale.
All SCRA posts are subject to a probationary period of 6 months or the term of the contract if shorter.
