The Children’s Hearings System provides the operational setting in which SCRA and our partner agencies work. The aim is to provide a safety net for vulnerable children and deliver tailored solutions which meet the needs of the individuals involved, while helping to build stronger families and safer communities.

Due to the nature of this post and the requirement to travel to, and between, outreach hearing centres, a driving licence and access to a car; or willingness to commit to timeously obtain a driving licence and access to a car; or access to suitable alternative transport to enable frequent travel to and between outreach hearing centres is essential.

You will assist reporters in the provision of a high quality service to children and families by engaging effectively and with sensitivity, to ensure that service users are fully informed and supported throughout the hearings system process.

The successful candidate will be qualified to HNC or SVQ Level 3 or be willing to work toward the qualification, and/or able to demonstrate the skills and competencies required to provide the best service to children and families. In addition, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience of working with a wide range of people, demonstrating integrity and respect for others.
