The Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA) today (Tuesday 11 November 2009) announced that for the first time in seven years, there was a fall in the number of children referred to the Children’s Reporter.

Greater support for Children's Hearings welcomed
The Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA) welcomes the Scottish Government’s decision today (Friday 18 January 2008) to create a single national body for the Children’s Hearings System as a way of strengthening support for Panel Members and improving services for the many children referred to the Children’s Reporter.

More than 150 children are referred each day to the Children’s Reporter
The Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA) today (Thursday 29 November 2007) confirmed that more than 150 children are now referred each day to the Children’s Reporter in Scotland.
SCRA’s Annual Report for 2006/07, published today, shows the highest number of children (56,199) being referred to the Reporter since records began – which equates to 154 children each day – and a 4% increase on the previous year.

Author to explore a life backwards at SCRA event
THE author of a remarkable book about a troubled childhood will be at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on Monday August 14. At an event hosted by the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA), Alexander Masters will explore the impact of traumatic childhood experiences on adult life.

Minister to open new Children's Hearings centre
Robert Brown MSP, the Deputy Minister for Education and Young People, will today (Tuesday, 27 June) officially open the new Aberdeen Children’s Hearings Centre. Mr Brown will also tour the offices in the Exchange Building, on Market Street, to see how the new premises create a more comfortable and efficient space for staff, children and families.

Victims of youth crime to learn outcomes of cases
VICTIMS of crimes committed by children in the Tayside Police area are to be told of action taken following such offences. Historically, victims have not received information about the outcome of a case against a young person accused of an offence against them, but that will change from today (February 1) with the launch of a new Victim Information Service by The Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA).
