SCRA appoints new Principal Reporter

Douglas Bulloch, Chair of the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA) said: “We are delighted to have attracted an individual of Netta Maciver’s standing and experience to the role of Principal Reporter. With over 30 years’ experience of working in Scotland’s social care sector, including work with families and children affected by serious physical or sexual abuse, she will lead SCRA through the next two years at a pivotal time of service modernisation and transition”.
Netta Maciver is currently Chief Executive of Turning Point Scotland, a leading social and health care charity with a turnover of £28m and 1300 staff. A qualified social worker, her earlier career was in Strathclyde and in a specialist unit providing services to families where children had been seriously physically or sexually abused. She was Assistant Director of Social Work for Comhairle nan Eilean in the 1980s before returning to Strathclyde to work with drug and alcohol services and developing the region’s strategic response to HIV/AIDS in collaboration with local health boards. She joined Turning Point in 1995 as Development Director and was awarded an OBE in 2001 for her work with women offenders and drug misusers.
