SCRA welcomes publication of Children's Hearings (Scotland) Bill

The Scottish Government has today, Wednesday 24 February 2010 published the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Bill.
Netta Maciver, Principal Reporter/Chief Executive of the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA) said:
“SCRA welcomes the publication today of the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Bill which details the Scottish Government’s plans to reform and strengthen the Children’s Hearings System.
“We will take time to consider the Bill in detail and we look forward to contributing written and oral evidence to the Education Committee as the Bill moves through the Parliamentary process.”
Netta added:
“SCRA believes that a new Bill is necessary. Our primary focus is to ensure that any new legislation improves the life chances of children within the Hearings System.”
