Case Management Update

SCRA is getting ready to implement its new Case Management System.

The new system will replace the existing Referrals Administrative Database (RAD) and will provide a modern and efficient electronic document management system for children’s case files.

The new system is almost complete, with a few final areas being refined. The Case Management System looks very different to RAD, and it is a more flexible and intuitive system.

The system will be rolled out later in 2012.

An extensive training plan is currently being finalised to ensure all SCRA staff are trained as closely as possible to the new system going live.

Now preparation is underway to ensure the business is ready for the change over to the new system.

A key part of the preparation is engagement with our partners. During the introduction of the new system, Hearings and court work will be prioritised. For example, SCRA staff will be ensuring that all annual and secure reviews due in the month of the roll out are arranged a month in advance.

SCRA’s Locality Reporter Managers will be communicating with local partners direct to ensure they are aware of developments which relate to their local area.

SCRA’s Data Reporting was driven by the RAD system and will require to be updated in line with the developments to the Case Management System, to this end, following the roll out to test sites, we will experience a disruption to our data service until all sites are rolled out and the data solution is fully implemented.

We do not anticipate this affecting the annual data for 2011-12.  We will provide more detailed communication as we gain clarity around timescales and impact.
