For the first time ever, SCRA is participating in the ‘Doors Open Days – Get into buildingsevent which takes place in Scotland every September.

The event celebrates heritage and the built environment in Scotland and offers people free access to over a thousand venues. With its previous history as a former brewery and long-term ‘at risk’ building, our Perth Hearings Centre in Marshall Place fits the bill to take part.

The centre will be open as part of the event on Saturday 16 September from 10.30am to 3pm.

Officially opened in November 2016, children and young people with experience of going to Children’s Hearings were involved in the design of the interior of the Hearings centre, to help make it a welcoming environment for children, young people and their families.

The centre has a reception area, two brightly coloured waiting rooms and a large Hearing room with comfortable chairs and a coffee table.

Members of the public who visit the Hearing’s centre will be offered a guided tour of the public areas, some background on the past history of the building and information on the role of SCRA in the Children’s Hearings System.

Children and young people are always welcome to look around a Hearing centre in advance of their Hearing, and if interested should contact the office’ s main number or email address to request a visit.

Contact details for all our main Hearing centres can be found in our Contact Us section here.
